After the discovery of CP violation, it is theoretically known that the time-reversal
invariance is not exactly satisfied. However, it is not confirmed experimentally.
The standard model indicates that the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) is of
the order of 10^(-32) e cm, which is much smaller than the current experimental bound
3x10^(-26)e cm. If there exists a physics mechanism beyond the standard model,
it could become 10^(-26)-10^(-28) e cm, which is close to the experimental limit.
In the near future, the experimental limit will become 10^(-27)e cm, so that
nucleon EDMs are good observables to find a physics signature beyond the standard model.

On the other hand, we need to calculate the nucleon EDMs from quark EDMs theoretically
in order to compare with the experimental data. So far, effective nucleon models have
been used to estimate this conversion. With the progress of lattice QCD methods,
it became possible to estimate the conversion coefficient, so called tensor charge,
by the lattice QCD. This tensor charge is given by the integral of quark transversity
distributions over the Bjorken scaling variable x. The quark transversity distributions
had been unknown for a long time; however, it became possible recently to find them
experimentally. It is because the KEKB experiment provided chiral-odd hadron
fragmentation functions, which can be used for extracting the transversity distributions
from hadron production processes of electron-nucleon scattering and proton-proton
collisions.

Considering this situation, we organize one-day workshop to discuss
* Theories and experiments of nucleon EDMs
* Tensor charge by lattice QCD
* Theories and experiments of transversity distributions
* Chiral-odd fragmentation functions
* Nuclear EDMs

A preliminary list of speakers are the following.
